Jeff’s Beach House Grille

Is it possible to bring the beach inside?  Surely yes, if one is talking about Jeff’s Beach House Grill; a restaurant that opened with a breath of fresh, salty air a few weeks ago.  As one walks through the front doors of Jeff’s, one feels as if they have stepped into the locales of Nantucket or the Hampton’s.  Nautical décor surrounds the place, with soft cushioned backed wooden seating and brass fixtures hanging from the walls. Whitewashed wooden booths kissed with ocean blue makes one feel as if they can smell the sea from their seats. Large ceiling fans give it a breezy feel.
A large bar runs the length of much of the restaurant and a there is a comfortable lounge area for enjoying ones drink. Live music plays and the ambience is really quite laid back and relaxed but also, holds a splash of trendy thrown in.
The menu was no disappointment either.  With an array of tastes from land and sea; but also, having pasta, pizzas and sandwiches of all different sorts, one would not be disappointed with the list of options.  Especially delicious were the appetizers of crab cakes and artisan grilled steak over flat break, olive tapenade and aioli. The steak was cooked to perfection and especially tender.  The shrimp scampi entrée had juicy, fresh shrimp with pasta cooked al dente and had a sprinkling of shaved Parmesan cheese on top.  But the favorites had to be the triple threat of desserts that came out last.  While no one can argue with cheesecake or chocolate mousse layer cake, I’d say the best surprise of the evening was the Coconut Cream Pie; light, airy, creamy and coconutty-licious!
Djillali Mezali (Chef G) came out to our table to ensure all was well and that we enjoyed everything.  Jeff Davis, the owner, and the entire management were circling around the restaurant, ensuring that the patrons were comfortable and happy. There was nary an empty plate on our table for 30 seconds without being cleared away quickly.
It is no secret that Jeff Davis was the former owner of the beyond popular News Café on Ocean Drive, and its sister restaurant, the Van Dyke Café on Lincoln Road.
Also on the menu are an extensive wine list of sparkling, white, red, rosés, port and dessert wines. A kids menu is also available for the wee sailors you bring on board.
Jeff’s Beach Grill is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, from 4pm until “late”.  All credit cards are accepted and owner, Jeff Davis is looking to possibly expand into a lunch menu.  Appetizers run from $6-$12 and entrees from $12-$45. The Grill has a capacity for 175 and is a lovely choice for private parties.
Jeff’s Beach Grille is located at 4140 North Federal Highway. Valet parking and self parking are available. For more information, call 954-565-3337 or log onto
